Vive is a Belgian brand - discovered, created and nurtured in Antwerp. With a little help from our friends in Italy who know a thing or two about designing beautiful things.
We at Vive like the idea of bringing things together – especially good things. We saw a heritage and appreciation for high quality leather products in Belgium. We thought "why not bring in some of the Italian flair to spice things up". So we teamed up with a design studio in Italy et voila, Vive was born.
Contrary to what you may have heard, Vive products are not made by tiny fairies spinning magical thread. They are actually made by real people, albeit fairly extraordinary ones.
Once the designs have been finalised, a pattern is made by a specialist pattern maker. From the pattern a first sample is cut and constructed by hand. Adjustments are made to the sample to ensure that it represents Vive quality in design.
If the sample is approved for general production, metal cutting dyes are then formed. The dyes are used to help speed up the manufacturing process and ensure consistency. Once the pieces of leather and other materials are cut, artisans work to put together each bag using traditional sewing, gluing and binding techniques. This is a time consuming process which requires skill and a great attention to detail.
Each product is checked at every stage of the creation process to ensure that by the time it reaches you it is nothing less than perfect (as if made by tiny fairies).
All design begins with an inspiration. This can be anything from a bird’s nest to a construction crane. This inspiration is then translated to an initial sketch which forms the basis of a collection’s identity.
The designer will then develop the collection further, selecting complimentary types of leather and accessories. Once the collection is complete, an initial selection process is undergone. Models that are selected will then be produced in a 1:1 detailed sketch from which a pattern can be made.
All Vive products are designed by an independent design studio based in Florence, Italy.
Leather is made from the hides (skin) of animals. It undergoes a tanning process in which the hides are placed in drums and washed and treated with chemicals and/or vegetable dyes to give the leather a desired effect. The tanning technique employed gives the leather its unique characteristics.
The leather found in Vive products is always genuine and of superior quality. Vive only sources leather from reliable and sustainable sources where the leather is predominantly a by-product of the meat industry.
The latest Vive seasonal collections may always be viewed on the collections pages of the website as soon as they are available for purchase.
From time to time additional models and flash collections may be released on a limited basis so we suggest that you check back often.

Show it some love. Treat it gently; give it a rest and an occasional bedtime story, maybe even a hug. If that doesn’t work then here’s some advice from the specialists:
Clean all products and accessories regularly using a soft cloth and a leather cleaning product as needed. While all Vive products are tested for durability and are designed to survive the demands of modern living, some simple care can help to prolong the life of your product to ensure that you can continue to enjoy it for years to come.
All Vive products are made from natural leathers that have undergone a careful tanning process to give them a unique look and feel. As such, they can be susceptible to stains and water damage so we recommend treating them with a specialist leather protector which is available from your local Vive representative. Always test any product on a small inconspicuous area first before applying to the rest of the product to ensure that no discoloration occurs
We pride ourselves in delivering a high quality product to you. However, on rare occasions a few may slip through the gaps and need to be fixed. Either that or you just used your Vive product too much (maybe not the kitchen sink next time) – not to worry, it’s a sign of love and we will do what we can to restore it to good working order.
